DUN Kota Siputeh – Mahkamah Rayuan Menangguh Sementara Perintah Mahkamah Tinggi

November 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Sulaiman mewakili Speaker Persidangan DUN Kedah Datuk Dr Abdul Isa Ismail.

MCA Unity Turmoil – It’s fresh elections, stupid!

November 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

If you were Najib, how would you tidy up the MCA mess?

As a matter of fact, you are a smart guy like Najib, and will therefore not poke your finger into the party’s internal affairs–at least on the surface.

Malaysians care a lot about their faces, and are often impulsive. They take delight in superficial vanity but pursue not the concrete accomplishments.

As a result, they are defeated over and again in political tussles, yet have not learned a lesson from their experiences.

Owing to their extreme lack of political wisdom, these political babes are still smearing on the wall and tearing up toys inside the children’s play room, before they burst into fights.

For what? Even they are not sure at times.

Addiction to fights indeed may have a part, but it could also be the rising hormonal levels within their bodies, that could only be quashed with a violent round of physical conflicts.

In the end, one gets a broken head, one gets his limbs dislocated while the other gets a concussion!

They find it useless going on with the fight. So they rush to the adult to seek some justice.

The adult says, “Hey! You’re no longer young, and should have learned how to behave. I really don’t like to bother myself with what you’re doing now, but for the sake of the family, I find myself compelled to step in and mediate.

“I said I would mediate, but that is by no means intervention. I’m only trying to help you out with problems you’ll not going to settle yourselves.

“And please remember, this is because you’ve invited me to do so, not because I want it myself!”

The kids nod in agreement, and surrender their fates to the adult with grateful hearts.

Actually, neither Najib nor Muhyiddin has the cure-all. I bet, the so-called solution that they will come up with over the next couple of days cannot be simpler.

That is fresh elections!

Such a simple solution should not have bothered the BN’s big bosses. Stupid!

Ong Tee Keat says: MCA needs to have fresh elections.

Chua Soi Lek says: MCA must have fresh elections.

Liow Tiong Lai says: MCA cannot afford not to have fresh elections.

The kingpins of all differing factions have said the same thing, different only in the timing of saying it; but the funny thing is: When one side agrees to have fresh elections, the other side tends to change its mind.

In the end, there is really no problem with fresh elections, but when to hold them continues to be squabbled over.

Ong wants them next October. In fact, the later the better, and if possible, take a few more undesirable guys off the scene before the date.

Chua wants them next March. His reasons: kids are on holidays, while the wife is busy with New Year festivities.

Liow wants this December, the earlier the better, to prevent any untoward incident that may scatter his support base.

Sooner or later, fresh elections are inevitable.

Since everyone knows that the only eventuality is fresh elections, why the trouble of bruising their rivals and themselves, stopping only after BN’s big bosses have opened their mouths? (By TAY TIAN YAN/Translated by DOMINIC LOH/Sin Chew Daily)

Pas Selangor Ke Lembaga Disiplin – Hasan Ali Sudah Jawab Surat Tunjuk Sebab

November 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

MCA Unity Turmoil – ‘MCA = Malay Controlled Association’?

November 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

By now, just about every Malaysian has watched the most-lampooned political video on YouTube since VK Lingam’s “correct, correct, correct”– a full-grown deputy minister crying uncontrollably because he was left out of a weekly meeting of top MCA leaders.

By I Love Malaysia

Ignore the fact that this just shows how bottomless the self-esteem of MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong is. Or the fact that many of the videos on YouTube are tagged as “comedy” and have been used to elicit laughter on patients suffering from depression. Let’s forget the fact that the skillful execution of political theatrics was blown when the “producers” even placed a blue box of “Premier” tissue in front of Wee before the press conference commenced (can verify this from the various YouTube videos).

Cry baby Wee and his Wanita counterpart Chew Mei Fun was just putting up a show for Umno. The rabid Chinese media had already reported that just minutes before the November 18 press conference, he was seen laughing heartily when Kelantan Senator Alex Wong cracked a joke about DAP MP Fong Po Kuan’s new hairstyle.

Well, the “show” paid off as the delirious Sin Chew group of newspapers went into a tailspin portraying Ong Tee Keat as the worst dictator since Gengis Khan. Immediately, the white-haired Sin Chew senior editor Kuik Cheng Kang alerted the press corp covering DPM in Rome who launched a tirade attacking OTK from several time zones away. The next day, Wee and gang got what they have been yearning for: PM confirmed he’s stepping in to resolve the MCA problems.

(As BN chairman, Najib has every right to show his concerns since he’s been pressing most of the right buttons to win back support in time for the 13th general election. But some MCA leaders have other devillish ideas.)

Why do MCA’s Three Stooges (Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Ka Siong and Chew Mei Fun) want Malay-Umno to step in to Chinese-MCA affairs? That’s because that is the only way they could get instant promotion in the MCA. Corrupted greed has possessed the trio who are willing to sell their souls to the Devil for a crest in front of their official Proton Perdana which reads “Menteri” or a door plate which says “MCA President”.

The thing is, Wee and gang had wanted to get rid of OTK without dragging in Umno. After the October 10 EGM, Wee (through his puppet Liow) thought they had staged a coup when they got 23 MCA Central Committee members to sign a letter in Nikko Hotel asking OTK to resign. But the number of pro-Wee Ka Siong CC members has, as of last count, dropped to 10 (http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/articles/20091118204819/Article/index_html).

That’s when WKS asked LTL to lead a delegation of 9 MCA MPs to see the PM and threatened Najib that they would quit to join Pakatan Rakyat unless OTK was removed. They had wanted to harp on OTK not keeping to his words about quitting but realised that they too have not kept to theirs about resigning if the EGM did not favour OTK. Besides, OTK can only be removed if 2/3 of the CC EGM wanted to remove him.The plan to see the PM failed miserably when only four MPs committed, including two siblings.

Caught on a backfoot, WKS decided that the next best thing is to get Umno to come in by playing victim and potraying OTK as the villian who has lost control of the MCA. Hence, the ceaseless calls for Maggi Mee (instant) fresh polls and pushing for the unlawful EGM. Then, Umno has justifications to stick its nose in.

How do you trust a man (WKS) who would resort to using an extra-party (Umno) and unconstitutional (EGM) means to topple a leader after exhausting all legal and internal avenues? Would such a man not be subservient to Umno?

Could anyone even imagine LTL thumbing his nose at Umno if he were handed the MCA presidency on a silver platter? Can such a man stand up and be counted by the Chinese community when he has to rely on his successor in MCA Youth (WKS) to lead him on what to say and how to act? Didin’t LTL already agree to the MCA Greater Unity Plan on October 20 but changed his mind after WKS and CMF returned from Geneva?

Vegetarian LTL would even take bak kut teh for a week to preserve his position going by how his balls shrank under interrogation from MACC officers on Nov 11 over the Toyota Alphard bribery case, in his own Health Ministry (not even Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam where Teoh Beng Hock was found dead).

Does Chew Mei Fun who recorded one of BN’s biggest electoral defeats in March 8 in terms of voting majority, have the spine for ANYTHING at all besides sucking up to Ong Kah Ting?

Can these people even come near Ong Tee Keat – despite his erratic character – in the way he stood up to the powerful forces in Umno by taking on the RM12.5 billion PKFZ scandal? Could they afford not to seek psychiatric treatment whenever the PM throws dirty glances at them when OTK himself had been censured not once, but twice by the Cabinet in the past (http://www.voiceofmalaysian.com/2008/10/06/i-have-been-yellow-carded-6-times-says-mcas-tee-keat/)?

And speaking of PKFZ, where was the MCA Youth chief when OTK was at the firing range while getting to the bottom of the scandal? Instead of sticking his neck out for OTK – as the Youth wing is expected to -  WKS stayed away to protect his cosy relations with Tiong King Sing, who’s really backed by powerful quarters in Umno.

It is very telling just what kind of substance Mastermind Crybaby Actor (MCA) is made of if he can shed buckets of tears just because he’s been left out of a weekly meeting (actually he could attend as an invited member but he chose to ignore that fact). That being the case, MCA (the political party) and the Chinese community should be the ones crying bucketloads if WKS is elevated. And their tears will be genuine, not like his crocodile ones.

MCA Unity Turmoil – Drama Swasta Entitled MCA & MIC!

November 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The Malaysiandigest

The current drama swasta that is unfolding practically every day concerning MCA is indeed getting
ridiculous and overboard. It is turning into a Dallas or Dynasty. It has all the ingredients of
such a TV drama; back biting, scheming, bad acting, surprise characters, suspense and the works.
The public is really fed up of these. It has become comical and embarrassing. Is this how MCA
politicians want to be known as? Has the serious business of governing taken a back seat to
internal power struggle? Based on result the answer is yes. MCA politicians are happier being
drama actors then people’s representatives.

The longer this goes on, the worst it is going to be for MCA. The notion that this will only
strengthen MCA is long gone with the duration and dragging that is going on. MCA will be badly hit
by public perception for a very long time. It only exposes MCA as the internal, bickering, back
biting party it has been long suspected of.

However, there is good news for MCA. At the very least, they are authentic and transparent about
what’s going on. Because of this, there might still be people out there that are willing to wait
it out and have not given up totally on MCA.

The drama however is reversed for MIC. There is hardly drama, comparatively to MCA. The silence is
deafening in MIC. The party situation is just like a cliché tv drama plot where everyone knows the
business is in trouble but the characters are still cool, calm and collected as if nothing happens.

The same can be said about MIC. Everyone knows they are facing a serious internal leadership
crisis but the people in MIC are play acting and still keeping an image. Samy Vellu has been
called to step down not only by the Indian community but also by members of his own party. Rumour
even has it that the Prime Minister also requested that he step down in private.

However, true to drama swasta plot, he is the invincible village head that is determined to hold
on to power no matter what happens and his people keep on blowing hot air up his nostrils,
pretending nothing is wrong.

Both parties are contributing to their own demise and credit is to them for doing it onto
themselves. Irony of it all, UMNO which many feel it is hard for them to change and be relevant
because of their Malay agenda is doing the best work among the big four.

MCA and MIC must stop all this drama so that their supporters and their relevancy in main stream politics is maintained. If not, good news is we have less drama and more government.

Kes Tuduhan Liwat Anwar – Saiful Nafi Ditawar RM5 Juta!

November 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

-thestar

Adik PM Diminta Perjelas Miliki RM30 Juta Saham CIMB

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Nov: Adik kepada Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Datuk Seri Nazir Tun Razak bersama isterinya, Datin Seri Azalina Aziz didakwa menguasai saham CiMB bernilai RM30 juta.

– Harakahdaily

Isu Ariffahmi Letak Jawatan – Transkrip Penuh Sidang Media Nik Aziz

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Ya

Transkrip penuh sidang media Abdul Ariffahmi

Macam mana pendirian saudara Arif? (gambar)

Apa rancangan masa depan?
Itu belum pikir lagi, mungkin berniaga. -Harakahdaily

DUN Kota Siputeh – SPR Gagal Dapat Perintah Tangguh Keputusan Kosongkan Kerusi!

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Rencana – Pakatan OK, BN Yang ‘Koyak Rabak’ Sebenarnya!

November 23, 2009 · 2 Comments

Cuma Umno sahaja ‘kelihatan’ kukuh. Umno dilihat kukuh kerana pergeseran dalamannya cepat ditutup media, walaupun keadaannya seperti ‘tongkang pecah’.

MCA Unity Turmoil – Lessons learnt and Political Reality in MCA Drama!

November 23, 2009 · 3 Comments

Written by Chan Kok Leong

There are important lessons to be learnt from the ongoing MCA drama, which has seen a rapid change of scenes — from questions about honour, broken promises to one extraordinary general meeting (EGM) too many.

Aspiring politicians can pick out a few crucial pointers from the latest romance of the three kingdoms.

Lesson 1 — Friend or foe?
As Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, a consummate tactician, has often said: “There are no permanent friends or foes in politics.” Time and again, he kept above his foes and friends by turning enemies to allies and vice versa.

Whether it was a thorny Islamic activist or a splinter political faction, Dr Mahathir courted them when it suited him and cast them aside when they proved to be more than a handful.

Another survivor is Datuk Ibrahim Ali, who has managed to remain relevant despite his waltzing in and out of Umno, Semangat 46 and even PAS.

This is where Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai made his first mistake.

When it seemed impossible that Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek could come together after the EGM of Oct 10, the two opposing personalities bonded like long-lost brothers when it mattered most.

While Chua had been rejected by the delegates and Ong would find it hard to stay after promising to quit, Liow naively thought he could seize the opportunity to elevate himself.

Yet less than a month after the EGM, the two were photographed standing side by side with 27 other central committee (CC) members as Ong unveiled his “greater unity plan”. It was clear that political survival drew Ong and Chua together to counter “the third force”.

Lesson 2 — Hell hath no fury like a president scorned
A former blue-eyed boy of the president, Liow could have been in a healthier position had he not rejected Ong’s plan for fresh polls just hours after he was appointed the deputy president. If Liow was really unhappy with Ong’s plans, he should have rejected the appointment immediately.

But wanting to have his cake and eat it too, Liow thrashed Ong’s proposal for fresh polls after accepting the promotion.

Former allies of Ong — Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun — also jumped into the fray, hinting that the president should accept the no-confidence vote against him and do the honourable thing.

Had the three stayed on the sidelines and bided their time, pressure from Chua and the community at large could have decided Ong’s fate.

Lesson 3 — Keep it simple
Resolutions and legal terms are tricky things in the hands of a well-trained lawyer. In the case of the resolutions in the Oct 10 EGM, two should have sufficed.

The first was the no-confidence vote against Ong, which would force the president into a corner.

The second, which sought to nullify the suspension of Chua by the president’s council and CC, would bring the situation back to the starting point, that is before any disciplinary action was taken against the former health minister. So why was there a need for a third resolution — to seek his reinstatement?

Had the resolutions been kept to two, Chua would have achieved what he had set out to do — cast doubts on Ong’s leadership and nullify the disciplinary action against himself.

But by having the third, which delegates voted against, Chua suddenly found himself in the predicament of having needlessly lost his seat.

The only conclusion to make is that in looking for insurance, Chua had overestimated his support and had not anticipated the emergence of a “third force”. There can be too much of a good thing.

Lesson 4 — Sleeping dogs and pride
There was a sense of renewal after MCA’s party polls last year. Together with the no-nonsense Ong, delegates chose to return the popular Chua.

Despite his very public extramarital activities, Chua was seen as providing checks and balances for the party as well as someone who could pull the party together.

Ong, who is known for his righteousness, was also seen as someone who would not tolerate wrongdoing and would turn the party around. But instead of concentrating on rebuilding the party, Ong allowed his self-righteousness to get the better of him.

Rather than work with Chua, the former Universiti Malaya lecturer decided that his older partner’s indiscretions had tarnished the party and should be punished again.

While there were rumours of an uprising by Chua, the doctor would not have gained the moral high ground had Ong not sacked him via the presidential council. By dumping his deputy, Ong raised the ire of some 49% of the delegates, who had chosen to give Chua a second chance.

Add that to another handful of dissenters and Ong found himself in the unnecessary position of having a no-confidence vote passed on him. The matter was compounded by his vain promise to quit if he lost by “even one vote”.

Instead of rallying the party for a revival, Ong is now in the same company as Chua — dishonoured, distrusted and facing the possibility of another party polls.

Lesson 5 — Greater unity plan
Despite the bruises all three must be nursing now, the end is not here yet. For while it is arguable that the greater unity plan should have come in last year itself, it is never too late to begin although the 13th general election is not due for another three years.

MCA’s rivals for Chinese votes lie outside the party. If Ong,  Chua and Liow have the interests of their party at heart, they should go back to the negotiating table to find a peace plan.

Going to the courts to resolve a personality and leadership tussle will not enhance the party’s image among voters. Neither will personal vendettas.

Finally, the last lesson. Get back to the job at hand to turn MCA around.

PAS Deputy, Nasharuddin Mat Isa Rushed to IJN!

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) — The Member of Parliament for Bachok, Nasharuddin Mat Isa, 47, was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) here Monday after complaining of a chest pain during the Dewan Rakyat sitting at 11.30 this morning.

The PAS deputy president was rushed to the IJN following a medical examination at the health clinic at Parliament House after he had complained of a chest pain to the Tumpat Member of Parliament from PAS, Datuk Kamaruddin Jaffar.

He was later seen being pushed on a wheelchair, accompanied by Kamaruddin and the Member of Parliament for Pokok Sena, Datuk Mahfuz Omar, at 11.40 am before going to the IJN.

When approached by reporters, Mahfuz said Nasharuddin “initially complained of a muscle pain in the chest and after an examination at the clinic, he was advised to go the IJN for further examination.”

However, he declined further comment on Nasharuddin’s condition.

Mahathir On His ‘Great Mistakes’ Again….!

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

KUALA LUMPUR – Dr Mahathir Mohamad, no stranger to acerbic commentary, professed yet again that his biggest regret were his choices of successors.

mahathir-7.pngThe former premier lamented having poor character judgement, citing the appointment of Anwar Ibrahim and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as his deputies.

“My greatest mistake is in the choice of people. I seem to be picking the wrong people all the time. They not only did not live up to my expectation but they went all out to do all the wrong things, including abusing me,” he said in the latest to his regularly updated blog chedet.cc.

“I accept the blame for making wrong choices. But they were all so good before they were chosen,” he added.

‘Anwar was pious and holy’

Mahathir said Anwar, whom he sacked in 1997 for corruption, did not turn out to be what he had expected.

anwar-ibrahim-6.jpg“Anwar was pious and holy almost. Before I admitted him into Umno no one told me of his peculiar inclinations,” he said.

Anwar, a student of University of Malaya in the early 1970s, had been actively involved in Muslim students movement and was one of the founding members of the still active Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM).

Decades later, a year after his sacking, Anwar was charged and convicted for sodomising his step-brother Sukma Darmawan Sasmita Atmadja. In 2004, the Federal Court overturned the sodomy conviction.

Last week, Mahathir ridiculed Anwar’s appointment as Selangor economic advisor, saying he would bankrupt the Pakatan Rakyat-ruled state.

On ‘Mr Clean’ Pak Lah

“The other one was known as Mr. Clean. Well he and his family certainly did a lot of cleaning,” said Mahathir, referring to his selection of Abdullah and the ensuing allegations of cronyism under the latter’s administration.

abdullah-badawi-1.pngAbdullah served as Mahathir’s deputy from 1998 to 2003 and had led the ruling coalition to its biggest victory ever in the 2003 elections, sweeping 198 out of 220 Parliamentary seats.

“Awarding privatisation at inflated prices! Well the contract to double track and electrify the railways from Johor Bahru to Padang Besar was for RM14 billion (including the spur line to Kuala Lumpur).

It was cancelled by Abdullah.

“Then it was found necessary to double track and electrify from Ipoh to Padang Besar. I understand the price is RM12 billion. Work out the new cost if we build up to Johor Bahru,” said Mahathir.

” I am not perfect. I make mistakes. But some of the wrongdoings attributed to me are just not true or correct,” he said.

“We see what we want to see. Everyone is like that. So do I. But I try my best to be factual,” he added.`- malaysian mirror

MCA Unity Turmoil – Forcing a settlement is not the answer

November 23, 2009 · 1 Comment

COMMENT By TAN SRI ROBERT PHANG

Events are continuing to churn in the MCA and many have offered solutionsto end the crisis but there are those who are objecting for the sake of objecting.

THEY say talk is cheap. And it is even easier when the problems do not affect you directly.

The ongoing MCA leadership challenge is a fine example of this.

Various quarters and individuals are talking, talking and talking. But what is really happening?

Who is sincere and who is not?

The MCA leadership woes started after the March 8 general election electoral tsunami for Barisan Nasional.

Then president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting led the party to its worst ever electoral performance.

Under pressure to step down and take the blame for the embarrassing defeats at the hands of the DAP and PKR, Ong worsened matters when he tried to hand over the baton to his elder brother Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, whom he appointed as secretary-general.

This led to protests of nepotism and unrest in the party, resulting in the defeat of Ka Chuan in the hands of the controversial Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek in the deputy presidential race in October last year.

Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat emerged the winner in the presidential race against Datuk Chua Jui Meng.

The central delegates had voted the two for their differing leadership strengths and qualities, with the hope that they would somehow strike a strong working relationship.

That was not to be as the unrest continued, peaking with the Aug 10 extraordinary general meeting (EGM), resulting in both not getting exactly what they had hoped.

The results showed both had almost equal strength, losing the resolutions by narrow margins.

However, both are not obliged to quit as the party constitution states that any elected official can only be removed from office in an EGM by two-thirds of the delegates.

The EGM results jolted the senses of Tee Keat and Dr Chua, who both saw the wisdom and need to set aside their differences and work together for the party to face the next general election.

They then introduced a greater unity plan, which was endorsed by Barisan chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

By right, this should have ended the leadership crisis.

But a so-called third force, a combination of various quarters with their own agenda, did not want the crisis to end.

They continued to criticise the Tee Keat-Dr Chua leadership, thereby rejecting the unity plan.

Whatever the leadership tried to implement for the unity plan, these quarters objected for the sake of objecting, making life difficult for the central committee.

MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong and Wanita chief Datuk Paduka Chew Mei Fun are loud critics of the leadership.

When they were removed in a reshuffle of the presidential council last Wednesday, they “wept” in public, hoping to gain sympathy.

Really, what did they expect after lashing out at the leadership daily?

The council is the party’s administration.

Since they could not agree with the unity plan and the leadership, it was only natural for them to be removed.

Tee Keat has to date exercised his presidential powers according to the provisions of the constitution. What’s wrong with that?

Now, Najib is seen trying to resolve the crisis. Is that acceptable in the eyes of the Chinese community?

Forcing a settlement in a leadership issue in a political party is no answer because it will have far-reaching and long-lasting effects, as seen in the party’s history of protracted leadership struggles.

It must be left to the leadership to resolve its problems internally and to emerge stronger naturally.

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s 22-year tenure as Umno president and prime minister is testimony to this. - thestar

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

“Ya, benar,” katanya ringkas menjawab pertanyaan mStar berhubung berita mengenai perletakan jawatan Hassan.

Teoh Beng Hock Inquest – 2nd Autopsy Done, Results When Inquest Begins On Dec. 9

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

KUALA LUMPUR: The second autopsy on political aide Teoh Beng Hock’s remains has been completed but the results are only likely to be disclosed when the inquest into his death resumes on Dec 9.

Teoh’s sister Teoh Lee Lan said the family was given a short briefing after the autopsy at the Sungai Buloh Hospital by Thai forensic pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanansunand – but it was too technical for them to understand.

British observer: Prof Vanezis leaving the Sungai Buloh Hospital after observing the second autopsy yesterday.

“We do not know the results, or when it will be revealed.

“Please be patient and wait for the inquest to resume on Dec 9,” she told reporters yesterday.

Lee Lan confirmed that her brother’s remains would be re-buried at the Nirvana Memorial Garden in Semenyih tomorrow.

Teoh’s body was exhumed on Saturday after the coroner ordered a second post-mortem. Dr Pornthip had testified at the inquest that the likely cause of death was homicide and not suicide.

Teoh was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16 after being questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The commission’s Selangor office is on the 14th floor of the same building.

The autopsy started at noon after the pathologists spent the morning discussing and performing X-ray and CT scans on the remains.

The autopsy was completed by 3.15pm. It was carried out by Sungai Buloh Hospital’s Pathology and Forensics Department chief Dr Shahidan Md Noor.

Thai expert: Dr Pornthip (second from right) briefing Beng Kee (left) while Gobind looks on yesterday.

Besides Dr Pornthip, who is engaged by the Selangor government, others observing the autopsy were British forensic pathologist Prof Peter Vanezis, who is appointed by the MACC, and pathologists from the first autopsy Dr Khairul Azman Ibrahim and Dr Prashant Naresh Samberkar.

Dr K. Saravanan assisted by taking photographs during the post-mortem.

Lee Lan, together with her brother Beng Kee and parents Teoh Leng Hwee and Teng Shuw Hor, had arrived at the hospital at 8.30am.

Gobind Singh Deo, counsel for Teoh’s family, said no time limit was set for the autopsy.

“There is no pressure for them to finish by a certain time.

“What is important is for it to be done thoroughly, and that all aspects that can raise any doubt be addressed,” he said.

Gobind also thanked the police for acting quickly to provide escorts after Dr Pornthip complained that she had been followed on Friday and Saturday.

“To those following her, come forward. Don’t be cowards,” he said. - thestar
